Welcome to the official website of AWARFA-N Uganda!

Since its inception in 2020 and formal registration in April 2024, AWARFA-N Uganda Chapter has been dedicated to empowering women in animal resources farming and agribusiness. As part of the Pan-African AWARFA-N network, it focuses on economic transformation, gender policy advocacy, and capacity building in agribusiness sectors such as dairy farming.

Over the past year, AWARFA has made significant strides in training, networking, and policy advocacy, engaging over 100 members to enhance women’s participation in agribusiness. Advocacy efforts have led to increased awareness, new partnerships, and policy initiatives that support women in the sector. However, much remains to be done to expand membership, strengthen market reach, and ensure sustainability.

Looking ahead, AWARFA-N Uganda is committed to scaling its impact by mobilizing and empowering at least 1,200 women across the country by 2029. The organization aims to expand market opportunities, grow its financial base, and strengthen partnerships to create a more inclusive and sustainable agribusiness environment. Through continuous advocacy, capacity-building programs, and innovative solutions, AWARFA will play a pivotal role in transforming Uganda’s animal resources sector while ensuring that women entrepreneurs have the necessary tools and support to thrive.
